ANDREA STEFFEN | Chairperson of the Board
Andrea Steffen is one of the Founders and Chairperson of Diya-Light of Hope e. V.. Andrea has her background in Social Work, Psychology, Arts and Education (Master of Arts in Social Work, Hochschule Ludwigshafen am Rhein, Germany). She works with refugees in Germany, and is employed at Caritas Konstanz as Immigration Manager. Since 2013, Andrea started her volunteer as humanitarian work in India. She worked in an orphanage and a school for “underprivilege” children. This gave her the inspiration to start an Association to help people around the world. She spends most of her leisure in working with the organization. She believes that every person has the right to live with dignity and wants to make the world an intercultural place. To help other people returns in our own happiness.

NARMATHA YOHENDRAM | Vice Chairperson of the Board
Narmi has her background in Nursing. Currently, she is working in Cardiology Clinic in Herford, and helps patients with heart-related disease. Her parents are originally from Sri Lanka, and she is conversant with the Indian-Tamil Culture. Since beginning, She is with the NGO as the vice Chairperson. She believes in humanity work., and wants to contribute for our society.

SARAH STAUBACH | Secretary
Sarah has her background in Social Work and Psychology (Bachelor of Arts in Social Work, Hochschule Ludwigshafen am Rhein, Germany). She has working experience with children suffering from mental illness. She is also working with the NGO since the beginning, as she believes in supporting those people who are in need of help. She believes in helping wherever help is needed.

Dr. AMIT KUMAR SACHAN | Project manager
Amit is a research scholar and has background in Biophysics, Bioengineering, Nanoscience and related multidisciplinary research (Ph.D. in Biophysics, University of Muenster, Germany). Currently, he is employed as Scientific Research Assistant II at ETH-Zurich, Zurich, Switzerland. Since the inception of this NGO, he has been associated with it. He is one of the founder members of this organization. Besides having a strong passion for science and research, he has a finely honed inclination for social causes. His active participation during an anti-corruption movement (2010-2013) in India had yielded a clear thought and direction to his journey towards social causes and problems existing across different societies in the world.
